Janet, have a great time! I loved my trip to Melbourne, Sidney, and Brisbane to spread the gospel of informal learning. Souvenirs? I took home several puppets and stuffed animals: a wombat, an echidna, a squawking kookaburra, and a roo with a yard-long tail.

My one Australia joke:

Immigration official at the airport: "Have you ever been connected of a felony?"
Reply from entering tourist: "No, is that still required?"

jay

My one Australia joke:

Immigration official at the airport: “Have you ever been connected of a felony?”
Reply from entering tourist: “No, is that still required?”

I typically use email with SMEs. We could share screens, but haven't done that with them yet. I should try it though. BTW, have a wonderful adventure in Australia!

This isn't exactly as exciting as rainbows and unicorns, but it's one of the cool things about the Rapid approach using PowerPoint/Articulate. It's how it enhances and speeds up collaboration.

Like many designers and developers, I work with highly specialized content, often medical, and provided by SMEs. By working in PP, the SMEs can easily provide me with their content and we can go back and forth and collaborate very quickly. Skipping the long and drawn-out storyboard on paper stage is a revolutionary change for eLearning.

Hi Janet, I'm green with envy - was in Australia about a year and a half ago and it was freakin' amazing - loved it, loved it, loved it! We stayed in The Rocks area near Sydney Harbour and there was a great open air market on the weekend - lots of fabulous souvenirs, from jewelry to carvings to boomerangs...but bring enough cash as credit cards weren't always accepted. The area was great too because there was this amazing French cafe (5 minute walk from our hotel) that we went to every day for morning coffees and yummy pastries (La Renaissance?) If you get a chance, take a trip out to Adelaide...a city full of fabulous restaurants that's surrounded by wineries on all sides can't be too bad, no? Hope you have an amazing time!

Steve
