So true Jon. For me, probably slightly more enriching with bouts of enslavement. Discipline to me is doing the things you want to do when you don’t want to do them. So, if I want to be less enslaved, I have to simply stop working. Which sounds so simple.

Your experiment may also be one more data point contributing to the notion that we are (most of us) so very centrally occupied with “work” .. which is sometimes or often quite enriching and also may be somewhat or quite enslaving ?

I know that can be the case for me, so I “work” at disciplining myself to not work all the time l-)

This is an interesting and enlightening experiment. This supports an idea of those who say we are no longer just independent, introspective people, but are socially connected and even biologically integrated, making us, the self, both human and more than human…fascinating!
