It is the 5th year of the Edublog Awards, an awards program for bloggers who use blogs and social media to support education (so it’s a practitioner focus). The program is managed by Josie Fraser and founded by James Farmer. while the focus on the “Eddies,” as they are called, is the K-12 and higher ed sector, there is a category for “Best elearning/corporate education blog.”
I make a point to read blogs that do not focus on elearning and corporate education exclusively because many are just good reading and contain a great deal of information that is easily transferable to workplace learning.
So, per the rules (that all nominations must be made in the form of a blog post), here are the blogs in various award categories that I love reading. Some are workplace learning blogs:
Best group blog (tie): I’d say ASTDs The Learning Circuits Blog is a good one for it’s monthly BIG QUESTION series and eCube’s Collaborative Learning Environment blog with 16 contributing authors.
Best resource sharing blog: Jane’s E-Learning Pick of the Day by Jane Hart
Best teacher blog: dy/dan mainly because Dan Meyer have got some balls (and I mean that in a good way). He tells it like it is and several of his posts throughout the last year have really stuck with me. We need more Dan Meyer. Maybe I should’ve said he’s got a loud cowbell.
Best educational tech support blog (tie again): I’m pretty sure I’m interpreting this category creatively… There are two blogs that both started in the middle of summer ’07 that are the resource for those designing corporate e-learning. They both provide the practical application of instructional design using technology. The Rapid eLearning Blog by Tom Kuhlmann for Articulate and Making Change by Cathy Moore.
Best elearning / corporate education blog: Clive on Learning
